TSU General Education Core Curriculum

德克萨斯南方大学的所有本科生都要完成42个学分的核心课程课程. The required components of the Texas Core Curriculum are courses in the Foundational Component Areas (FCA): Communication; Mathematics; Life and Physical Science; 语言、哲学 and Culture; Creative Arts; American History; Government/Political Science; and Social and 行为科学.

The goals of the core curriculum at Texas Southern University are to prepare students to examine their values; to become aware of the values, 视角, and contributions of other individuals, 组, and cultures; to integrate knowledge, 并理解学术学科之间的相互关系. 学生将通过精读和频繁写作来实现这些目标, 批判性分析, 计算, 实践的经历, 积极的讨论, and collaborative projects.

CORE CURRICULUM OBJECTIVES

• Critical Thinking Skills, which include creative thinking; innovation; inquiry; and analysis, 评价, and synthesis of information.
